Digital sound without electromagnetic interference

The TOSLINK to TOSLINK optical audio cable is a practical solution for digitally connecting TVs, soundbars, AV receivers, DACs and other audio devices with a standard optical audio connector.

Unlike conventional analogue audio cables, it uses light through an optical fibre to transmit the digital audio signal. This makes the transmission immune to electromagnetic interference and avoids any electrical connection between the connected devices.

A length of 1.2 m is ideal for everyday connections in a home audio system, for example a TV to a soundbar or a digital audio source to an external DAC.

A universal connection for your home audio system

The TOSLINK interface, also known as Optical or S/PDIF Optical, is one of the most common ways of transmitting digital audio between audio and video devices. The cable lets you transmit digital sound without an analogue connection.

Use it, for example, to connect a TV to a soundbar or AV receiver, or to connect a CD player to an external digital-to-analogue converter. Depending on the connected devices, the interface can support stereo PCM as well as selected compressed multichannel audio formats.

A practical design for everyday use

The cable comes in a universal black finish with identical TOSLINK optical connectors at both ends. Its 120 cm length gives enough room for typical connections between devices placed side by side or above each other in a TV unit.

The connectors have removable protective caps that protect the optical ends during storage and transport. The caps must be removed before connecting.

Technical specifications

Please note: Remove the protective caps from both connectors before connecting. This cable is not intended for analogue audio or for connecting to 3.5 mm mini-TOSLINK optical connectors. Avoid sharp bends in the cable during installation.
