Power cables are among the most important accessories for upgrading an AV system. Standard supplied cables are designed primarily to provide the power needed for a device to operate. Higher-quality cables can improve performance through a design that reduces surrounding digital noise, better conductor materials for power transmission and a larger cross-section for greater current capacity. They also feature quality plugs with gold-plated contacts.

Choosing a power cable
First check the device's power inlet and the required cable rating. Consider length, flexibility and space behind the component, particularly with larger connectors. The cable must suit the local mains supply and the connected device's power requirements. Select the connector using the manual or device markings, not just its shape.
